Nicor Gas employees help Brookfield Zoo prepare for 2023 Holiday Magic

It's Volunteer Week at Nicor Gas and our employees across the state are showing their "energy to serve." On Monday, 25 employees gathered at Brookfield Zoo to help their team prepare for the 2023 Holiday Magic event. Volunteers spent the morning testing and wrapping more than 2,700 strings of lights that will sparkle again beginning in November.

Nicor Gas is a long-time partner of Brookfield Zoo and sponsors the "Party for the Planet" every Earth Day, as well as their "Great Bear Wilderness" exhibit. Launched last year, the exhibit includes an educational animal video that showcases the benefits of renewable natural gas (RNG). The animated short is narrated by local television anchor and philanthropist Jarret Payton, son of Walter Payton, the late Chicago Bears running back and NFL Hall of Famer.

Nicor Gas is proud to provide clean, safe and reliable natural gas service 365 days a year to more than 70 facilities on Brookfield Zoo's campus, while maintaining specific climate-controlled exhibit to meet the needs of their animals.
