Hoffman Estates gets $500,000 state grant for Village Green upgrades

Hoffman Estates will receive a $500,000 matching state grant to help fund $1 million in planned investments at the Virginia Mary Hayter Village Green, including concessions and restroom upgrades.

The state funding comes from the Tourism Attractions and Festivals Grant Program through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.

"This is a space that we continue to improve for the benefit of our residents and visitors," Mayor Bill McLeod said in an announcement of the grant. "We are looking forward to an even better experience for those who attend our many outdoor concerts and special events."
