Letter: Columnist should back up his claims

There is, I think, something sinister or, to the extent there are journalistic ethics, something unethical, about syndicated columnist Marc Munroe Dion's reflections on Tucker Carlson.

Is it ever appropriate to label someone a "fascist," if you offer nothing to support the horrible accusation? Is it ever appropriate to say someone "tells lies just to get famous and rich," but neglect to describe the lies and renounce them?

If I assert that Mr. Dion is a bottom feeder, I would simply point to his writing to support my view.
