Letter: Save country: Don't raise debt ceiling
Speaker McCarthy, you are now not just a congressman among 435, though you hold the speaker's gavel. At this epochal moment in history, you hold the torch which may save our country.
Not the torch of liberty - for that is all but extinguished. Please, sir, hold that flaming instrument to the ground so it may ignite and scorch the entire political earth.
Do not raise the debt ceiling one more dollar. Let the Democrats and the quislings in your own party howl with outrage and shake in protestation.
Let the media heap calumny on you, but stand steadfast and - yes - burn the whole place to the ground, starting with the Capitol. Let the wildfire spread in all directions. Let the stock market tumble and let the dollar wobble.
America will survive, but the United States government won't. Your career, Speaker, likely will perish in the conflagration. But you will be a hero, our MAGA hero, accomplishing by destruction what President Trump could not do with a mere overhaul. In the end, through a painful, arduous process, America will again be great.
What is America now but an emasculated nation? Our enemies abroad conspire against us while we "speak softly" and point our whittled-down "big stick" at a Chinese spy balloon over our own land. Our once-revered institutions are an amusement park for the woke Left. Half the country cannot tell right from wrong, or define a woman or distinguish abortion from murder, or make correct change at a cash register without asking Google.
We must clear the table and start over. Conservatives have nothing to lose and we have little left in our arsenal. But you, Mr. Speaker, have your finger on the nuclear budget button. Press it, just say "No." No more obscene spending, no more farcical compromises. Let the federal leviathan die of third-degree burns. A renaissance starts with ruin.
