ComEd to begin preventive tree-trimming in Hoffman Estates

ComEd will trim trees and branches that interfere with power lines in Hoffman Estates this spring and summer.

Over the next few months, ComEd crews will perform preventive tree maintenance that reduces the chance of power outages and other safety hazards.

Areas slated for tree trimming include Higgins Road between Barrington Road and Gannon Road (including residential areas near Glen Lake Road); residential areas just west of Roselle Road and north of Golf Road; and areas west of Roselle Road south of Higgins Road.

The trimming is done by trained, qualified arborists, and includes trees in front and backyards. ComEd will notify affected residents using mailers and door tags.

The final shape of each tree will depend on its size, shape, and proximity to the power lines. For more information about line clearance work being performed by ComEd, visit their website or call 1-800-Edison1 (1-800-334-7661).
