Letter: Investigations are not baseless

The question, "Will the Left never tire of their witch hunts toward President Trump, especially since they were proved baseless?" prompted me to respond.

First, the so-called witch hunts are not being conducted by only the Left. While the Manhattan district attorney is a Democrat, the indictments issued in that case were based on recommendations of a grand jury whose members are of different political backgrounds.

Former President Trump is also under investigation for possible election tampering in Georgia, for his involvement in inciting rioters who caused destruction, injuries and death at the U.S. Capitol building, and for his handling of and failure to disclose classified documents in his possession. These investigations are being conducted by officials in Georgia and the federal Department of Justice with various political backgrounds.

Second, these investigations were initiated based on serious, factual allegations. Until they have been completed and resulted in no charges, or former President Trump is exonerated from any charges brought, the investigations have not been proven baseless.
