Letter: Missing the point

Susan Estrich decries what she calls the hypocrisy of the movement to eliminate medical abortions (using abortion pills vs. surgical abortions). Ms. Estrich misses the point and overlooks what is truly hypocritical about the issue. The sole purpose of the abortion pill protocol is to kill, not cure, unborn children. Under what other circumstances does the FDA approve drug-induced death?

Attempting to eliminate another method of killing unborn human life is consistent with all efforts by human life advocates to defend the dignity of human life from conception. Turning a blind eye to the fact that the abortion pill regimen has no other purpose than to deprive innocent human life of their right to life, while simultaneously claiming to be a defender of human rights, is the real hypocrisy.
