Judson University hosts spring concerts and theater this month

Judson University's Demoss Center for Worship in the Performing Arts is hosting a variety of musical and theater offerings this month.

Most events are free; a freewill offering will be received at some.

Consider attending one or more of the following concerts or program on campus, 1151 N. State St. (Route 31) in Elgin.

In Thompson Hall's Thulin Auditorium, the Chamber Singers Recital will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 13, followed by Ezequiel Navarro, oboe senior recital, at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 15. A Percussion Ensemble Concert will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 18. The Judson Jazz Combo will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, April 21.

A piano ensemble recital will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, and the Marina Menconi Vocal Recital will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday, April 30.

The Eunoia Theatre Ensemble presents "I See Stars: A Song Cycle," directed by Tiger Khokunthod. The performance will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 22, in the Dark Room Studio B in the lower Thompson Hall. Admission is free.

On Sunday, April 23, the Judson Civic Orchestra Concert will feature the Piano Quintet in F minor, Op. 34, by Johannes Brahms. It will begin at 2 p.m. in Herrick Chapel. Admission is $10, $8 for seniors, or free for children and students.

The Spring Concert of Worship will feature "The Magic of Music" on Saturday, April 29, in Herrick Chapel. It will feature the Michael Folker family of musician-magicians. It will begin at 3 p.m. in Herrick Chapel. There will be a freewill offering.
