Letters: Scandal facts missed

A recent Associated Press article left out a few important details on presidential scandals. Ronald Reagan had a chief of staff named Alexander Haig who withheld the information about money for the contra rebels. He told the Iran Contra congressional investigators the "Bucks stop here." Haig resigned.

Lt. Colonel Oliver North was cited for lying before Congress for not remembering what Swiss Bank account he put the contras arms money in. Richard Nixon's obstruction of justice was confirmed in the minds of many after 18 minutes of his recorded meetings was erased. Nixon blamed his secretary Rosemary Woods for that. No one believed. Nixon resigned.

Writer Russ Bynum obviously was not born when these events happened. He should get his facts right next time.
