Letters: Religion and abortion

I was just reading an article headlined "Illinois Senate OKs bill cracking down on crisis pregnancy centers." In response to Sen. Jil Tracy saying that the bill could prevent volunteers from sharing their religious beliefs, the volunteers should not be giving their religious beliefs unless it is made very clear at the door that the facility is strongly tied to a particular church.

We have religious freedom, but that stops with yourself. Forcing your religious beliefs on someone else, that is taking away their religious rights. In my opinion, a pharmacist cannot refuse to fill a prescription for the same reason. Saying it is against their religion is forcing their religion on the patient and taking away the patient's religious freedom.

Pro-life organizations still have the right of free speech and can explain their views to someone if that person is willing to listen, but they cannot force the patient to listen.

These CPCs should have a comprehensive list of the services they offer and for how long. Do the health services stop once the child is born? What care is provided after the child is born? Do they provide well child care and well woman care?
