Batavia High student wins contest to design community flag

Rachel Agro, a sophomore at Batavia High School, has won the contest to design a Batavia community flag.

FlagSource of Batavia is producing a 3-by-5-foot version, priced at $50, as well as a garden flag with stake, for $35. Orders can be made at bataviachamber.org/store, or you can buy them at the Flag Day celebration June 14.

The Batavia Chamber of Commerce is donating 25% of net profits to the Fox Valley Patriotic Organization, for construction of the Batavia Flag Day monument.

The flag represents Batavia's historical connection to industry, along with its geography, Rachel said in a news release.
