Inverness Golf Club announces five new Evans Scholars

It is with great pride that the WGAESF directors announce IGC's five new Evans Scholars

The Western Golf Association conducts championships for professional and amateur golfers, promotes the use of youth caddies and supports the Evans Scholars Foundation's efforts to award full tuition and housing college scholarships to high-achieving caddies with limited financial means.

This full tuition and housing scholarship is a life changing opportunity for these five scholars and will have a significant impact for them and their families. Please join us in congratulating them on their hard work in obtaining this momentous achievement:

Michael Leonczuk, University of Iowa, finance, Class of 2027

Max Malak, University of Iowa, civil engineering, Class of 2027

Gavin Ratigan, mechanical engineering, Class of 2027

Joey Towns, University of Missouri, business finance, Class of 2027

Adam Collier, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, biology, Class of 2027

This year's candidates certainly met the qualifications for this scholarship: Superior academic performance, outstanding caddie record, strong character and integrity and financial need. While on the course this summer, Inverness Golf Club's NINE current Evans Scholars caddies will be easily identified by the green Evans Scholars caddie bib they are wearing. Never has IGC been awarded this many scholars in one year. IGC is proud of how our caddie program affects our community in such a positive way.

The awarding of over 300 new Evans Scholarships through the Western Golf Association this year is a direct result of contributions to this very worthwhile cause. There are over 1,100 current Evans Scholars in school with an average value of an Evans Scholarship totaling $125,000.
