Letter: All history must be remembered

The Saint Patrick's Day festivities are a reminder that we learn from history, both good and bad. All people are human and make mistakes. Courageous people who do great things often also make bad choices while thinking they are doing what's right or necessary at the time.

People should be honored for the great, good they have done. Their mistakes should also be recognized and not forgotten.

History teaches that great things are possible, and horrific events happen that should not be repeated. No history should ever be erased or forgotten.
