Letter: No shame today in lacking decency

Donald Trump: So many lies and hate-filled speeches that are too numerous to mention.

And then you have so many other like MTG, full of anger and spewing obvious lies like saying forest fires here are caused by secret Jewish space lasers or harassing Parkland school shooting survivor and calling him a coward as he was walking to Congress to testify.

Just imagine this: Here is an adult lawmaker verballing abusing a teen who has been through a trauma that will be with him for life.

Then there is U.S. House member Lauren Boebert who was seen addressing a group while saying Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, a homosexual, missed time from his duties while he was learning to "chest feed" his newly adopted child.

There is so much more and not enough space to list it all.

In the 1950s, the infamous Sen. Joseph McCarthy was the misinformation-spreading-hate monger of his time. He took on the U.S. Army declaring lax security at a top secret army facility.

At a hearing the U.S. Army appointed attorney Joseph Welch, after listening to McCarthy spew lie after lie said, "You have done enough. Have you no sense of decency?"

McCarthy quickly lost all standing and faded into the background a broken man. However, now having no decency means very little if anything. Its commonplace.
