Letter: Clear choice for school board

As we approach the upcoming District 211 school board elections on April 4, it's worthwhile to take a look at what the extremist supporters of Mark Cramer and Peter Dombrowski have been saying to the other board members during their meetings.

Just a sampling:

"It's not that we want to ban books...just specific books." "You are committing evil and there will be a judgement day and you will answer (to Jesus) for this" (Jan.19, 2023)

"You have a cult like devotion to the LGBTQ" (Jan. 19, 2023)

"...you are functioning together with the superintendent as co-conspirators and architects of the indoctrination programs like CRT in our schools. We are working on replacing you. We will no longer play the game that these are nonpartisan elections." (December 9, 2021)

So, if you believe that religious beliefs should be given priority in public school policy decisions, LGBTQ students should be invisible and public education should be a partisan circus based on radical right misinformation, then maybe these guys are for you.

But, if you're a member of our community that believes that all of our students should matter; that we should provide an honest and safe education for all of our students; and that maintaining the steady progress that our district has shown for many years, then Mark Cramer and Peter Dombrowski should not be your choices in this election.
