St. Patrick's Day festivities, parade and fireworks return to East Dundee

The McNamee Family Foundation is once again hosting the Thom McNamee Memorial Dundee St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 11, and a fireworks display on Saturday, March 18, in downtown East Dundee.

The parade, which draws large crowds each year, will step off at 11 a.m. from Rosie O'Hare's Public House and travel down Barrington Road to River Street, ending at Bandito Barney's Beach Club.

There will be family-friendly activities and entertainment at the grandstand at The Depot starting at 9:30 a.m.

Sign up for Dundee St. Patrick's Day Parade Your Pet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 11, at the Depot, 319 N. River St., East Dundee. First- through third-place winners will receive prizes and be invited to march in the parade. Register at dundeestpats.org/pet-parade.

Before the parade, cheer on the annual DUblinDEE Kilted 5K Run/Walk at 8 a.m. at Lifeline Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, 296 Williams Place, East Dundee. The USATF-certified race follows the Fox River along Duncan/Elgin Avenue. The race raises funds for FISH Food Pantry and Friends of the Fox River. The registration fee is $50. Next weekend, the celebration continues with the James McCulla Jr. Memorial Fireworks on Saturday, March 18. The fireworks show will be set off around 7:30 p.m. by the footbridge over the Fox River in East and West Dundee. It is hosted by Bandito Barney's. Learn more at dundeestpats.org/fireworks.
