Libertyville resident writes book on quality health care

LIBERTYVILLE - Teri Dreher, a certified patient advocate and Daily Herald columnist, has published a new book offering potentially lifesaving advice on navigating our convoluted health care system.

Dreher, a Libertyville resident and former critical care nurse, has written "How to Be a Healthcare Advocate for Yourself & Your Loved Ones." In it, she draws on more than four decades of health care experience to provide friendly, down-to-earth advice.

Dreher tackles subjects like planning for emergencies, monitoring your aging parents' health, and making small changes that add up to improved physical and emotional well-being.

Looking for another way to serve, Dreher was among the first wave of nurses to leap into the field of patient advocacy, helping individuals and families dealing with medical crises. Today, her company, NShore Patient Advocates LLC, is the Chicago area's largest advocacy organization.

The book can be purchased on Amazon.com.
