Firefighter hurt battling blaze at Hanover Park duplex
A Hanover Park firefighter sustained minor injuries battling a blaze at a duplex Tuesday night.
The firefighter was transported to a hospital where he was treated and released. He is expected to make a full recovery.
Firefighters were called to the duplex on the 1700 block of Zeppelin Drive just after 8:40 p.m. for a report of an active fire. They arrived to find smoke and flames coming from an attached garage and extending into the living space of the two-story duplex.
The duplex was deemed uninhabitable after the fire. No damage estimate was available.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
