Letter: A political stunt with a positive script
President Trump traveled to East Palestine, Ohio, to bring hundreds of cases of water and various other supplies that the folks in that town require. Democrats immediately called the visit a publicity stunt. Of course this was a publicity stunt, but a stunt with a positive script.
Trump haters will say that the former president was simply feeding his huge ego. Perhaps that's true; however, the water and supplies the residents of East Palestine received are in all probability, greatly appreciated, considering the drinking water could be contaminated. This visit serves both purposes listed above.
No, stop. It also serves another purpose. Trump's visit provided our overwhelmed Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg, to actually emerged from his cave and provide moral support to the eastern Ohio citizens.
Forget the fact that this happened three weeks ago. Forget the fact that his boss, Joe Biden, thought that visiting Ukraine was more important.
Democrats love passing out money and, man alive, we have certainly passed out more than our fair share, a term Biden is familiar with. Enough with Ukraine already. I believe we've given our fair share.
East Palestine will not give any candidate millions of votes, only a few hundred at best.
However, Buttigieg, Biden, anyone, try and pay attention to our citizenry rather than a far away country that should be none of our business specifically. France, Germany, England and other countries in Europe should take the reins to help Ukraine.
Washington, turn your attention to those in need in this country.
