St. Charles Episcopal Church begins Lenten series exploring faith and music

St. Charles Episcopal Church is hosting the Lenten series "Rest in God's Presence" on Saturday mornings, starting Feb. 25.

These programs, which are open to the public, will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays at the church, 994 N. Fifth Ave.

It will begin on Feb. 25 with a discussion on "Jesus and the Disinherited," based on chapter one of Howard Thurman's book, available free online.

It will be followed on March 4 by "Walking a Labyrinth," where you can learn about labyrinths and how to use it. Indoor labyrinth available for use.

On March 11, meet your interfaith neighbors, ask questions, explore possible ways to share during an Interfaith Gathering at 1 p.m. at the Islamic Center of Kane County, 2325 Dean St., Suite 100b in St. Charles. Note the special time and location.

On March 18, learn about "Praying with Color," Episcopal prayer beads, and other meditative practices in a "Retreat of Meditative Practices," followed by a salad luncheon.

On March 25, find out the proper way to "Walk the Stations of the Cross."

It will wrap up on April 1 by "The Music of Lent and Holy Week." Learn how the music of Lent and Holy Week is special, and why does it move you?
