Letter: The impact on Bulls of losing Ball

Who would you expect to be the Chicago Bulls' most valuable player? No, not DeMar DeRozan. Not Zach LaVine, either.

It's Lonzo Ball.

Before Lonzo got hurt last year, the Bulls were 27-13. They were leading the NBA Eastern Conference.

Since then, their record is 45-52. They will be lucky to even make the playoffs this year.

Lonzo Ball was their point guard. He was the leader of their defense. He was a good 3-point shooter. When he went down halfway through last season, the Bulls chances for an excellent year went out the window.

He's had two knee surgeries since that time, and will probably not be back this year either. The Bulls look pretty sad without his energy and playmaking.
