No one injured in Friday night fire at Bartlett residence
No one was injured in a fire that broke out about 8:16 p.m. Friday in a residence in the 100 block of South Crest Avenue in Bartlett.
Bartlett firefighters noted light smoke from a small fire in the attic above a bathroom when they arrived on the scene at 8:19 p.m. Firefighters attacked the fire from the interior of the home, according to a prepared statement from the Bartlett Fire Protection District.
By 8:25 p.m., firefighters had contained the blaze but continue to ventilate smoke and fire gases, salvage and investigate the fire for some time after it was extinguished, according to the department.
Twenty firefighters, two fire engines, two ladder trucks and two ambulances responded to the scene.
The house remained habitable, according to authorities, and the cause remains under investigation by Bartlett Fire District investigators.
An estimate of the damage was not available Saturday.
