Letter: Laughable take on Biden
As a regular reader of the Daily Herald, I enjoy the various perspectives offered by the op-ed columns and "Your Views." On Feb. 10, Jamie Stiehm's column was a partial review of Joe Biden's State of the Union address, where she noted he has "A's and B's on his report card." I laughed out loud. Not sure what she saw, but Joe's report card is mostly D's and F's - at least as noted by his polling with the American people.
Then it was on to "the robust economy (on job creation)." She must have missed that virtually all of those jobs are pandemic returns. His "foreign policy chops?" You mean the Afghanistan withdrawal disaster? Or waiting until the spy balloon crossed the entire country before shooting it down? She criticizes Jim Jordan and other Republicans for a variety of terrible things, like investigating Hunter Biden for possible corruption in which his father was complicit. She compares Biden to Lincoln, adding a final addition of clueless nonsense by this obviously laughable socialist writer.
I will always defend Jamie's right to speak her mind, and I know she's just trying to defend a pretty indefensible president whose entire career has been one of contradictions, lies, and ineffective policies. I just feel we should all be aware that what she says is absurd. And, like I did, laugh out loud.
