Letter: Some reflections by a senior

The adamant marchers claiming to protect their daughters' rights may have unintended consequences of no grandchildren to dote on - one of life's greatest treasures.

One person's "irresponsibility" becomes "Oops, how did that get there?" and then "me too." Who's next? Is there really security?

The word is that we would help defend Taiwan if China invades, but with the drawing down of troops and equipment will we have the means to do so?

To what end? Russia is sacrificing men, equipment, economy and world opinion by destroying property, infrastructure and people's lives in areas they hope to conquer. Even if somewhat successful, the cost to rebuild will be enormous, hindered by a population that will never accommodate.

We will all pay for the electric cars, whether we own them or not. Already there are requests to increase our electric bills to accommodate the increased usage. Observing someone at a rest stop waiting while their car was being charged prompted questions: What happens when a car doesn't have enough charge to accommodate traffic congestion/delays, or an urgent need for speed, or an order to evacuate an area?

Sadly, there is no retribution against mass shooters who shoot themselves. Even finding out the "why" doesn't help much. With so much violence and hatred in our entertainment fare, it's no wonder people with resentments or an unstable mind act out what they watch.

I wonder who the domestic terrorists that traveled to Atlanta to cause destruction and set a police car on fire would call if their car/home/business were willfully destroyed? Another terrorist?

We probably will never know the true story behind some of the news, only what has been deemed that we should accept/think.
