Mundelein vehicle maintenance supervisor finalist for top award

Recently, Dan Friberg, vehicle maintenance supervisor for the village of Mundelein, was recognized by Firehouse Magazine as a finalist for its "2022 Emergency Vehicle Technician of the Year."

To be considered for this award, an individual needs to be nominated by an organization and must meet a stringent number of professional criteria related to service emergency vehicles and apparatus. In Friberg's case, he was nominated by the village of Mundelein, the village of Long Grove, and Countryside Fire Protection District.

"Dan and his vehicle maintenance team maintain the emergency vehicles for three fire protection districts, which is an accomplishment in and of itself. So, it goes without saying that our fleet service team is the premier group in Lake County," said Adam Boeche, director of public works and engineering.

When asked about this accomplishment Friberg said, "It is an honor to be recognized by the Fire Department Safety Officers Association. Our team strives to provide the highest level of service for each of the fire districts we maintain, and they are considered as the highest of priorities when service is required."

The village invites the public to join in congratulating Friberg and his team on this prestigious recognition.
