Wednesday Night Gathering to offer free food, sandwich making, Spanish-language lessons

Continuing its biweekly Wednesday Night Gathering series, Wesley United Methodist Church in Aurora will hold a free dinner and family activities on Wednesday, Feb. 15.

The free event begins at 6 p.m. at the church, 14 N. May St. Parking is free.

Michelle Curiel, Wesley children and family director, said the event will open with a free supper provided by Holy Perogi food truck of Aurora.

For a side dish, Curiel will serve roasted vegetables.

After dinner, families are invited to make sandwiches for Community Fridge, a downtown Aurora free pantry and get lessons in learn conversational Spanish.

Curiel said, "We have about half Spanish speakers that show up and a lot of people said they wanted to learn Spanish at the Feb. 1 gathering."

Wesley holds Sunday worship services online at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. in the church sanctuary.
