Aurora University to host presidential historian in 'A Conversation with Doris Kearns Goodwin'

Aurora University will host a presidential historian and Pulitzer Prize winning author on Tuesday, March 14.

Continuing spring main stage events in the school's 2022-23 Celebrating Arts and Ideas series, "A Conversation with Doris Kearns Goodwin" will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Crimi Auditorium at the Institute for Collaboration, 1347 Prairie St. in Aurora.

Goodwin has written seven critically acclaimed books, including her most recent "Leadership in Turbulent Times."

"Leadership" chronicles her five decades of scholarship studying presidents Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Lyndon B. Johnson.

The Arts and Ideas series continues at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 24, when the Joffrey Academy of Dance performs the ballet "Rita Finds Home."

A co-production with the Miami City Ballet, "Rita" follows a young artist after a hurricane hits her tropical island home and propels her into a new life in a metropolis.
