Letter: Caring for any infant is not 'extreme'

I am deeply grieved that an infant born alive after an attempted abortion has no legal protection. I am saddened that the adults in the room are not required by law to see that this helpless little girl or boy has the same degree of care as any newborn. How odd it is that requiring care for this newborn is called "extreme."
