Des Plaines 2nd Ward candidate removed from April 4 ballot

A Des Plaines aldermanic candidate has been removed from the April 4 ballot because his petition didn't have enough legal signatures, officials said.

Christopher Jensen's disqualification leaves two candidates for the 2nd Ward seat: incumbent Alderman Colt Moylan and challenger Earl Wilson.

Wilson had challenged the validity of Jensen's petition. A three-member electoral board decided the matter Tuesday.

In addition to the 2nd Ward contest, races for the 4th Ward, 6th Ward and 8th Ward will be decided in April. Early voting begins Feb. 23.
