Arlington Heights chamber to recognize top businesses, leaders

Two dozen Arlington Heights businesses and leaders have been nominated for awards recognizing their contributions to the local chamber and community.

The Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce will name the winners at its annual awards gala at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at Cotillion Banquets in Palatine.

"The chamber is proud to support such a wide range of businesses and organizations who make our community stronger, and the gala serves to recognize these contributions," said Jon Ridler, the chamber's executive director.

"We invite the public to attend the gala to join us in supporting those businesses and individuals who add to our vibrant Arlington Heights culture."

The nominees in the seven categories are:

• Business of the Year: Air Flo HVAC; Kilwins of Arlington Heights; Nak4 Orthodontics; and Verilife Cannabis Store.

• Small Business of the Year: Bottle and Bottega Arlington Heights; For Papa's Sake; M&M Home Remodeling Services; and Northwest Plumbing Co.

• Emerging Business of the Year: Driven Car Wash; First Ascent Climbing & Fitness Center; Laura Lian Design Studio; and Scratchboard Kitchen.

• Not for Profit Organization of the Year: Connections To Care; Gerry's Cafe; Kiwanis Club of Arlington Heights; and Vitalant Blood Services.

• Business Leader of the Year: John Corbett; Heather Henkel; Amy Philpott; and Becky Reel.

• Business Volunteer of the Year: Gary Crigler; Rebecca Haltman; Susan Holmbraker; and Amy Philpott.

• Community Leader of the Year: Mary Beth Beiersdorf; John Corbett; Amy Philpott; and Becky Reel.

Tickets for the event are $75 and include dinner, open bar, raffles, and an after-party with live music from Sounds of the Big Band, cocktail tastings and local dessert samplings.
