The Orchard Evangelical Free Church Bluegrass Ensemble to Perform at Arlington Heights Mayor's 36th annual Prayer Breakfast

The Orchard Evangelical Free Church Bluegrass Ensemble will perform at the 36th Annual Arlington Heights Mayor's Prayer Breakfast on February 2, 2023. The event will be held from 7-9 a.m., at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, 75 W. Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights (just west of Arlington Heights Road).

All are invited to this community networking event that features a breakfast buffet, prayers, scripture readings, music, and a keynote address. This year's speaker is Rotary International District Governor Bill Kmiecik. Arlington Heights Mayor Tom Hayes will welcome everyone and offer opening remarks.

Music is always a special and enjoyable part of the program. The Orchard Evangelical Free Church Bluegrass Ensemble members describe themselves as a group of musicians who love to serve the Lord through music.

Bluegrass music has traditional roots that are deeply embedded in gospel preaching music. Several times a year (whenever there is a 5th Sunday in a month), the worship team at the Orchard changes directions and leads worship, playing contemporary Christian songs and old hymns with a Bluegrass "flavor." Band members include: Tim Patterson (lead vocals & guitar), Donny Wells (vocals & bass guitar), Mark Jacobs (vocals & banjo), Ken Siok (acoustic guitar), and Tim Meyer (fiddle). The volunteer planning committee led by Krystle Seifert King is pleased to welcome the ensemble for what promises to be a lively performance.

Lutheran Life Communities is the main sponsor for the prayer breakfast. Additional sponsors are Jim Bertucci and Tom and Sue Hayes. Tickets are $25 per person and may be ordered and paid for on line at https://business.arlingtonhcc.com/events/details/arlington-heights-mayor-s-community-prayer-breakfast-2023-13272. Individuals and organizations may also book tables of 10 for $250.
