The Chicago Chapter of SIOR Presents 2022 Richard G. Levy Presidents Award to George Cibula, SIOR

Fifty-year industry veteran known for big deals and big laughs

The Chicago Chapter of the Society of Industrial & Office Realtors (SIOR) presented the Richard G. Levy Presidents Award to George Cibula, SIOR and Chairman & CEO of DarwinPW Realty. The award was given at SIOR Chicago's Holiday Luncheon on December 2, 2022, an event that attracted more than 70 people to the Glen View Club in Golf, IL. Brian Liston, attorney with Liston and Tsantilis, presented the award to Cibula.

One recipient is chosen each year by the SIOR Chicago Chapter Executive Board as a member they feel exemplifies outstanding achievements both in and out of the commercial real estate industry. The award's namesake, Richard G. Levy, SIOR, was a highly revered leader within the real estate community who typified professionalism, business acumen and strong personal and business ethics that represent the goals of each Chicago Chapter SIOR member.

Cibula is one of the most respected brokers in the industry and in the SIOR Chicago Chapter. His 50-year career in industrial real estate brokerage began at Cushman & Wakefield, and shortly after in 1975, he founded Darwin Realty & Development Corporation. Cibula has brokered some of the largest industrial real estate transactions in the Midwest including in the sale of large industrial investment portfolios for clients including CenterPoint Properties, First Industrial Realty Trust, Prudential Insurance, Lincoln National Life Insurance, and the RREEF Funds. Cibula is the managing partner in more than 60 industrial properties in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin totaling 4.5 million square feet. He has developed more than 3.5 million square feet of industrial properties for both Darwin-managed investment groups and national institutions.
