Letter: Bans wanted only on weapons of war

This is the response to the gentleman who wrote banning AR-15 type weapons would turn this country to another Cuba.

First of all, I refer to the AR-15 as a weapon and not a gun, because it is a weapon of war created to kill enemy with large capacity clips. You don't need a 30-round clip to go hunting.

No one is asking to give up your hand guns and hunting rifles, just a weapon created for war.

The shooter in Highland Park was able to get off 80 rounds in a little over a minute with a so- called semi- automatic weapon. You say it doesn't work banning these weapons. Just look at when we had ban compared to now. Australia banned these weapons and had them turned in over ten years ago and haven't had a mass shooting since.

If you want to get your jollies off shooting an AR-15 type weapon with large capacity clip, join the Army.
