Book launch set for 'Two Floors Above Grief'

A book launch party for Kevin O'Connor's book "Two Floors Above Grief: A Memoir of Two Families in the Unique Place We Called Home" from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at the Elgin History Museum, 360 Park St. Cost is $3 or free for museum members.

O'Connor grew up in what is know the O'Connor Leetz Funeral Home at 364 Division St.

Set from the 1920s to '80s, "Two Floors Above Grief" is full of fascinating details and anecdotes about Kevin's upbringing as a funeral home child, brought to vivid life through a compelling collection of letters written by various family members who lived and worked together at the O'Connor Funeral Home in Elgin.

A short presentation on the book will start around 11:30 a.m. Then O'Connor will be available to mingle and sign books.
