Letter: Give people data to make up their own minds
Parmy Olson 's complaint that Twitter appears to be following Telegram's lead is laughable. She complains that Telegram doesn't have a lot of limits on what can be posted and doesn't have a lot of celebrities on it nor advertisers, but nevertheless has the largest number of followers of its kind. So, being able to hear various opinions from people who don't believe their celebrity status makes everything they spout the truth and not "bought" by advertisers - seems to be what people want. That's bad? Not according to their followers. People can make up their own minds about what is factual by hearing a lot of data and asking a lot of questions. Repeating and accepting gossip and hearsay is not the way to the truth.
