Beth Raseman lauded for service to Barrington's White House

At a special board meeting on Dec. 5, the village of Barrington board of trustees honored Beth Raseman for her dedication and service to Barrington's White House.

Raseman has been an active member of the Barrington community since moving to the village in 1989. During this time, she served as a village of Barrington trustee for 12 years and through her service was a founding inspiration for Barrington's White House Cultural and Community Center (BWH).

After her service as a trustee, Raseman began fundraising, planning and overseeing the construction of BWH.

Since the opening of Barrington's White House in 2015, Raseman has provided operations management, fundraising, marketing, communications and consulting services for BWH, and through efforts above and beyond, turned BWH into a reality showcasing the community and cultural heart of Barrington.

"The village of Barrington board of trustees is proud to recognize Beth Raseman for her dedication to the community. We extend our deep appreciation and gratitude to Beth for her service to the village of Barrington community for her dedication to developing a thriving community center in Barrington's White House, leaving a legacy of cultural enrichment and a greater sense of place within our community," said Karen Darch, village of Barrington president.

Barrington's White House is entering its eighth season of cultural programming in 2023, and has brought in 66,565 visitors to Barrington's Village Center since its opening on July 4, 2015.

Due to Raseman's fundraising efforts, $10,598,462 has been raised, including $2,000,000 for a capital reserve fund, from 766 individual donors, businesses, and foundations to support Barrington's White House.

Raseman will retire from her current position as the Cultural & Community Center manager at Barrington's White House at the end of 2022, but will continue to support BWH in its fundraising efforts.
