DuPage sheriff's office seeking ILEAP accreditation

A public information session will be held Monday Dec. 19, as part of an on-site assessment of the DuPage County Sheriff's Office as it seeks accreditation through the Illinois Law Enforcement Accreditation Program.

Office employees, elected officials, and community members are invited to call into the session at (630) 407-2010 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. to comment.

Written comments can be mailed to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office, Attn: ILEAP Accreditation Process, 501 N. County

Farm Rd, Wheaton, IL 60187; or emailed to jhamer@macombpolice.com.

An assessment team will be at the sheriff's office Dec. 18-20 to examine its policies, procedures, management, operations and support services.

This will be the first time the sheriff's office is seeking ILEAP accreditation. Gaining accreditation requires meeting at least 181 areas of ILEAP criteria, which represent a level of quality of service to citizens.
