Letter: Expressions of support are appreciated

I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Daily Herald for featuring Father Corey Brost's thought-provoking Dec. 7 guest view "A Christian call to stand up against growing antisemitism."

Father Brost implores his fellow Christian clergy to loudly and publicly, from the pulpit, condemn any and all hate speech or Antisemitic tropes that further spread misinformation.

Reach out and offer help and support. My rabbi has spoken often of receiving phone calls and offers of support from the Elgin community faith leaders following an act of violence or Antisemitic online speech from a public figure. These actions truly have meaning for those of us at Elgin's Congregation Knesset Israel.

Father Brost further asks Christian youth to learn the truth about Judaism, thereby becoming an educated ally and friend who is able to speak up and out against hate speech on social media and in their schools.

The father closes with a beautiful wish to his Jewish friends for a Hanukkah season filled with light, peace and countless Christian allies.

To Father Brost and all my Christian friends, wishing you a Christmas filled with family, love and peace.
