Aurora church to host 'A World of Christmas' featuring non-European nativity sets, food

"A World of Christmas," nativity sets and food celebrating Christmas traditions worldwide, will be hosted on Sunday, Dec. 11, by New England Congregational Church, 406 W. Galena Blvd. in Aurora.

The public is invited. Admission and parking are free.

The event in the church narthex will follow the 10 a.m. worship service.

Students of the Beloved Community, a church committee, is the sponsor.

Guests are invited to view nativity sets by artists of non-European traditions and sample food to match.

A committee statement said, "What if we were to embrace Christmas as it is celebrated elsewhere? Join us on the second Sunday of Advent to open our thoughts to the bigger world of Christmas."

New England holds Sunday worship at 8:30 and 10 a.m. Call (630) 897-8721 or visit newenglandchurch.org for more information.
