Police: Beach Park home shot up early Tuesday morning

Police are seeking the public's help with finding the person or people responsible for firing several bullets at a Beach Park home early Tuesday morning.

No one in the home, on the 12800 block of West Wakefield Drive, was injured, Lake County sheriff's officials said.

Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli said investigators do not believe the shooting was random.

Covelli said neighbors called 911 around 3:30 a.m.

Investigators gathered evidence that has been sent to a crime lab for analysis, but Covelli declined to say what was recovered.

Covelli said there were children in the home at the time of the gunfire.
