Letter: Appeasement attempt

I would like to address the Carpentersville Open House for the proposed Carpentersville Logistics Park that was held on Thursday, Nov. 17. The entire thing was not only a lame attempt to appease the community, but it was apparent that a number of "presenters" were ill prepared and misinformed. A number of stations had information and graphics that had nothing to do with the proposed facility, like maps of Longmeadow Parkway bridge and Walmart on Rt. 25. When asked about the traffic pattern chart, most had not seen it and several presenters said it was not from Carpeentersville or the developer, when in reality, there was a link on Carpentersville's FAQ page that included that very chart. Several presenters had no idea there was a zoo and park across the street. However, the best thing that came out of that open house was the fact that the citizens showed how angry and adamant they are in stopping this farce.
