Arlington Heights' Shelter, Inc., hosted its 35th Gala November 18th

On Friday, November 18, 2022, Shelter, Inc. hosted its 35th annual Gala at the Hyatt Schaumburg-Chicago to support youths in crisis. This year's theme, Dancing In the Moonlight, was displayed by hundreds of sparkling lights strung throughout the ballroom while guests enjoyed a four-star gourmet meal, entertainment, and dancing.

The event was hosted by sponsor NBC 5's reporter Regina Waldroup, and Susan McConnell, director of the Barrington foster care agency Let It Be Us was the honorable chair. Shelter's Buckholz Award, their highest honor, was given to Arlen Gould, youth and education advocate, for significantly impacting the community in the spirit of the agency.

Auction items ranged from family holiday experiences to international vacations, and more than $215,000 was raised for Shelter's child abuse intervention and prevention programs.
