On Friday, November 18, 2022, Shelter, Inc. hosted its 35th annual Gala at the Hyatt Schaumburg-Chicago to support youths in crisis. Shelter's Buckholz Award, their highest honor, was given to Arlen Gould, youth and education advocate, for significantly impacting the community in the spirit of the agency.

Auction items ranged from family holiday experiences to international vacations, and more than $215,000 was raised for Shelter's child abuse intervention and prevention programs.
