Letter: Thanks for support on forest preserve request
Thank you to all Cook County voters who helped pass the tax increase referendum in support of the Cook County Forest Preserves. While votes are still being counted, it appears that the referendum passed with close to 70% of the vote.
We all benefit from open land that supports biodiversity, provides natural floodwater storage and improves air quality. Additionally, the increased revenue will generate jobs and shore up the pension fund. Thank you to the voters for supporting Clean Air, Clean Water and Wildlife.
Now, let us all get out and enjoy our wonderful forest preserves.
