Letter: Village not truthful about truck project

This misinformation coming out of Carpentersville about their Binnie Road and Randall Road project is truly frustrating. If you go to their website, nearly every talking point they list is untrue.

I'll just go over a couple.

West Dundee never declined the project. Lee and Associates brochure to sell the property lists the project site as West Dundee, not Carpentersville.

Additionally, the village president for West Dundee has issued a statement that the village did decline the project. So why is Carpentersville considering the project? They haven't told anyone.

Given my background, I know a bit about chemistry and motor vehicles.

The village is saying that diesel emissions are not an issue.

Randall Road is one of the busiest roads and has some of the worst air pollution in Kane County. That area is the worst.

Apparently, the people on the board pushing that the diesel emissions from 300 semis will be clean need to read the EPA's old and new rules. The new standards do not go into effect until 2027. Those standards do not make diesel emissions clean at all. They make the emissions cleaner than the old emissions. They also only apply to diesels made after 2027.
