No one injured in Hoffman Estates house fire

A house on the east side of Hoffman Estates caught fire Monday evening. No one was injured, but the initial damage estimate was $300,000, officials said.

The Hoffman Estates Fire Department arrived at the home on the 1500 block of Glen Lake Road just after 7:15 p.m. and found the first floor in flames. The homeowner told first responders that everyone who was in the home escaped unharmed.

Officials said 23 firefighters battled the blaze and many more emergency personnel helped at the scene.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
