How to apply for Lombard tourism grants

Lombard is offering tourism grants to organizations and events that attract overnight visitors to the Lilac Village.

The grant program awards funding to festivals or programs that promote the village as a destination and help generate hotel stays and tourism revenues, officials say.

The deadline to apply is Friday, Jan. 6. First-time applicants must attend a workshop to receive assistance and guidance with their initial grant request. To schedule a workshop, contact Assistant Village Manager Nicole Aranas at aranasn@villageoflombard.org.

The village uses hotel-motel tax dollars to provide tourism grants. The grant program is geared toward events organized by nonprofit groups and governmental entities, not private businesses.
