Letter: GOP tilting toward 'Twilight Zone'

As an independent voter; I have voted periodically for Republicans and for Democrats depending on their specific positions on issues that matter to me and my family. However, I must say since the beginning of this "Trump era" I feel that Republicans in the main (thank goodness for the likes of Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney) have alarmingly begun traveling to a modern day Twilight Zone. The latest confirmation of that being Trump saying that the Pelosi residence break-in may have been fake.

Reading Republican Arlen Gould's "Guest Article" yesterday was a breath of fresh air. Mr. Gould's summary of the current state of the majority of today's Republican Party could not have been more on target.

As a young person I loved watching the Twilight Zone but as an Army Veteran and now Senior Citizen with many real life experiences; I now shudder beyond belief at so many of our citizens believing the Big Lie (election deniers) and SO MANY other debunked conspiracy theories.

Thank you Mr. Arlen Gould for laying it all on the line so clearly and succinctly. I hope and pray that the majority of our Republican Party comes back to its senses and belief in a democratic USA soon. Let's get back to watching reruns of the Twilight Zone and not living it each and every day.
