St. Charles to host Veterans Day ceremony Nov. 11

The annual St. Charles Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, in Fire Station 1, 112 N. Riverside Ave.

Please join us to show your appreciation for our country's veterans.

The ceremony will begin with the singing of the national anthem, followed by an opening prayer, remarks, a closing prayer, gun salute and Taps performance.

"On Veterans Day, we gather as a community to say 'thank you' to our veterans for their selfless service to our country," said Mayor Lora Vitek. "At the city, we are proud of the fact that nearly 10% of our workforce is veterans. We have been recognized consistently by the U.S. Department of Labor with a Gold Medallion in the HIRE Vets program."
