Baxter highlights new home dialysis at conference

DEERFIELD - Baxter International Inc., an innovator in kidney care, gave 14 data presentations at the Kidney Week 2022 conference last weekend in Orlando, Florida.

The company highlighted the role innovation plays in increasing access to and quality of home dialysis and expanded hemodialysis (HDx) care, Baxter said.

Baxter highlighted one study showing an improvement in patient results when using its Sharesource RPM digital health platform, which allows health care professionals to monitor their patients' home dialysis treatments and then remotely adjust therapy without the need for patients to make unplanned visits to the clinic.

"With a growing global deficit between the number of patients with kidney disease and those receiving care, we believe a combination of collaboration, education and innovation is necessary to help increase both access to and quality of care," said Peter Rutherford, vice president, Medical Affairs, for Baxter's Renal Care business. "Scientific exchange is an important part of the collaboration and education initiatives, which we are very pleased to support at this year's Kidney Week."
