Background: Martin, a black belt in Kyokushin karate, earned a bachelor of arts in history and Judaic studies from Concordia University, Montreal, and a master's in Judaic studies also from Concordia. He received a master of arts degree in government from IDC Herzliya, Israel, specializing in counter terrorism, homeland security and cyber security. He served as an intern at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism in Herzliya, and at the Canadian Institute for Jewish Research.
Introduction: An expert in the field of counterterrorism, Martin's three main issues in this election cycle are public safety, school choice and Illinois' economic climate. Martin advanced unopposed out of the Republican primary election.
